Iles Formula Hair Talk Featuring Corey Powell of Salon Benjamin West Hollywood is one you…
AWARD SEASON – Hair in review.
Welcome back and thank you for joining me for some chit chat on hair, celebrities, and most importantly Award Season hair. Hope you had a great weekend, I did. Worked with one of my favorite clients. I don’t get to see her much, as she lives in London Gwendoline Christie plays Brienne of Tarth on the Game of Thrones. She needed her Blonde locks to be AMAZING for the SAG awards. She got what she came for, I worked my Magic.
Then Saturday evening I went to see another client Broadway Diva Betty Buckley and hear her sing at the new Wallis Annenberg theatre in Bev Hills, where I ran into my mentor Jose Eber who I have not seen for 20 years. Betty was BRILLIANT.
OK, so lets talk about The Golden Globes, they are the kickoff of the award season. This year the Globes were a bit of a disappointment as far as Hair, Glamour and Fashion. Maybe it was the weather, it was a bit rainy.
The Critics Choice awards (which I did not watch) had many red carpet HITS.
First, Jennifer Aniston looked gorgeous in her red suit, with hair down.
My client Michelle Monaghan looked amazing with her hair pulled back, made the best dressed list.
Jessica Chastain hair rocked the loose braid with knots and the extra bit of hairline pulled over and pinned. LOVE, perfect with the dress.
Emily Blunt is sporting a sombre hair color, it’s pretty, not sure it’s my favorite hair color on her, but still beautiful in the red dress.
Ethan Hawke is looking super stylish, always has good hair.lucky guy. The men are kinda limited in their fashion expression at these award shows.
Now the SAG Awards:
My first time watching, the opening was nice the actors introducing themselves as actors, was cute. created a casualness.. I quite liked the show, was nice how the actors introduce their own shows. Everyone looked good.
My client was beyond, standing 6’2 beautiful blonde hair (ME) wearing a Giles (her BF) red couture gown, made especially for the SAG awards.
Claire Danes hair color and style was great, sexy, Loved.
Julianne Moore wins again, loved her dress, and her “ barely done” do.
Patricia Arquette won again and looked so much better than the Globes, loved the glasses. !!!
Reese Witherspoon and Emma Stone with their side-parted ponytails sleek and chic.
Julia Roberts back to red hair, LOVED,!!!
Frances Mcdormand sporting chic short grey hair, not easy, WORKED.
Naomi Watts looked a classic beauty, and Kudos to who ever does hair color.
Laverne Cox, I think It’s the first transgender to be a presenter, I think that dress got her on the worst dress list, the hair with that front braid was interesting.
Keira Knightley was ravishing pregnant in purple, hair was pulled back with back down, few loose pieces around face, very soft and sexy.
If the SAG awards are any inclination of the Academy Awards, should be fun… Keep your eye out on E! NEWS for some of my red carpet tips and tricks.
Thanks for tuning in, see you back here right after the Grammy’s
