Corey’s artistic vision comes from growing up on Southern California beaches, his eye captivated by the sexy, undone, natural California blonde. Looking to emulate the effects of the sun and sea on the hair, Corey became an expert at Balayage, using his artistry to create his signature blonde.

While he is highly esteemed for his work with blondes, he is also known for Michele Monaghan’s golden chestnut tresses and Elizabeth Reaser’s deep, rich chocolate brown. He created Debra Messing’s signature look on Will and Grace, and when Kate Hudson and Kim Basinger wanted to become redheads, they turned to Corey.

A Hollywood mainstay since his early 20’s, Corey’s first break was apprenticing for Jose Eber, who created the iconic “Farrah Fawcett” look on the Charlie’s Angels T.V. show. Ironically, Corey colored Cameron Diaz’s hair for the Charlie’s Angels movie franchise a decade later.

Corey enjoys collaborating with set hairdressers, directors, and producers in creating specific looks for characters in film and TV: Jennifer Connelly’s wig in Top Gun: Maverick and several characters in Bombshell and Big Sky. He has also worked with talents such as Hilary Swank, Toni Colette, Mary-Kate Olsen, Ashley Olsen, Jennifer Coolidge, and Rene Zellweger.

Throughout his work in Hollywood, salon life has remained an enduring passion. Corey values the camaraderie within a salon and derives inspiration from offering clients a new perspective on themselves. Behind the chair and in the mirror, he thrives on the synergy created with each client. He cherished the relationship he formed with long-term client Elizabeth Taylor, who loved his philosophy: Hair is sexy, and I love what you let me do to it.
