Can you keep a secret?

On July 18, 2016 by Corey Powell

I received a 911 call from Ms. Murphy herself “HELP, I need my color done for a photoshoot in New York.” Knowing the secret formula to her radiant red color, I replied: “of course I will squeeze you in today.” Be sure to find out some of her other secrets in Elle Magazine’s July issue, sponsored by Secret.

Michelle Monaghan for FAULT

On May 4, 2015 by Corey Powell
My client Michelle Monaghan looking fantastic in her photo shoot for FAULT Magazine. I had just taken her blonde down a few shades, making her hair look more natural and sun-kissed. I added balayage highlights using Solaris bleach and Olaplex to keep the hair in amazing condition.

The Many Looks of Kim Basinger

On November 11, 2014 by Corey Powell

Creating looks for actors for Film or T.V. is very fun, challenging, and getting the color exactly right for the character can get very demanding. But I absolutely love it! Creating such looks requires a collaboration with the movie’s hair stylist, producer, director, and of course the actor which is inspiring the role.

Last week Kim Basinger came in to get her color done for an upcoming film, and had not seen her for years. The first time I met her was in 2003 and I was stunned with such a beauty and I automatically fell in love with her. At that time we needed to make her hair color a perfect shade of a medium copper reddish-brown for her character in the film “Even Money”. It was fantastic working with Kim even after we went back to blonde for movies like: “Cellular”, “Sentinel”, “The Door In The Floor” just to name a few. She even went on to be the face for an editorial campaign with Miu Miu.

This time when Kim came in to the salon the demand was to create depth in her hair and brighten up her blonde with Balayage highlights for her new role in the up coming film “The Good Guys”. I can’t wait for you to see the final look, and most importantly this amazing film.

Here are some pictures from previous advertisements, editorial shoots and films I have done her hair for:
